    According to the latest measurements from the European Space Agency's (ESA) Planck mission, the universe is expanding at a rate of 74.03 kilometres per second per megaparsec. This means that for every million parsecs (3.26 million light-years) away from us, the universe is expanding 74.03 kilometres per second faster.
