  • Pinky Finger & Violin: Can It Affect Mastery?
No. While dexterity and manual coordination can affect a musician's performance, there is no evidence to support a direct link between the functions of the small finger (pinky) and the ability to master the violin. Many highly skilled violinists have had little or no use of their pinky fingers, instead relying on their other fingers and proper technique to produce a full range of sound and musical expression.
