  • Cat Dental Cleaning: What to Expect & Is It Scary?
Cat dentals do not usually require any surgery on the jaw; only a little gumwork if required. There will usually be pre- and post-op bloodwork; a little shaving under the chin; intubation (so they don't get water in their lungs); removal of teeth, if necessary; polishing up remaining teeth; antibiotics and possibly an overnight stay for monitoring. It's not nearly as traumatic for cats as it can be for people!
