  • Mastering Texas Hold'em: Hand Strength, Position & Opponent Exploitation
    Hold 'em

    * Strong hand: You have a strong hand if you have a pair of queens or better, or if you have a good draw (such as a straight or a flush).

    * Good position: You are in a good position if you are in late position (the last few players to act on each betting round). This gives you more information about what your opponents have before you have to decide whether to bet, raise, or fold.

    * Weak opponents: You are playing against weak opponents who are likely to make mistakes. This gives you an advantage because you can make good decisions and capitalize on their mistakes.

    Fold 'em

    * Weak hand: You have a weak hand if you have less than a pair of queens, and you do not have a good draw.

    * Bad position: You are in a bad position if you are in early position (the first few players to act on each betting round). This gives you less information about what your opponents have before you have to decide whether to bet, raise, or fold.

    * Strong opponents: You are playing against strong opponents who are likely to make good decisions. This makes it more difficult for you to win because they will not make as many mistakes.
