  • Bat Safety: Preventing Encounters and Protecting Your Home
    * Stay away from their roosts. Bats often roost in caves, trees, and other dark, secluded places. Avoid these areas, especially at night when bats are most active.

    * Keep your home bat-proof. Seal up any cracks or holes that bats could use to enter your home. This includes cracks around windows, doors, and soffits.

    * Remove any food sources that might attract bats. Bats are attracted to insects, so keep your yard free of standing water and remove any rotting fruit or vegetables.

    * If you see a bat, don't panic. Bats are not aggressive animals and they will not attack you unless they feel threatened. If you see a bat, calmly leave the area and do not try to touch it.

    * If you think you have a bat infestation, call a pest control company. They will be able to safely remove the bats from your home and prevent them from returning.
