  • Public Restrooms & Masks: Understanding the Risks & Recommendations
It is not recommended to wear a mask while using a public restroom. While masks can help protect against the spread of respiratory droplets, they can also make it difficult to breathe, especially in a confined space like a restroom. Additionally, there is no evidence to suggest that wearing a mask in a public restroom provides any additional protection against contracting or spreading COVID-19.

Instead of wearing a mask in a public restroom, focus on practicing good hygiene habits, such as washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds and using a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. You should also avoid touching your face and keep a distance of at least 6 feet from others. If you are feeling unwell or have symptoms of COVID-19, stay home and avoid using public restrooms.
