    In many communities, African American young women face several challenges and instances of social and racial injustice. To resist such oppressive forces, these young women often use language as a tool for social empowerment and agency. A researcher exploring this topic may investigate how the choice of words, narratives, and linguistic styles among Black girls and women contribute to their resilience, collective consciousness, and resistance against adversity.
