  • Boost Charity Donations: How Smartphone Personalization Increases Giving
Researchers at Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Washington have discovered that charities can increase the likelihood of receiving donations from smartphone users by personalizing the donation request and highlighting the importance of the donation. This can be done by including a donor's name in the request, as well as highlighting the impact of the donation, such as "Your donation of $10 can provide clean water to a child in Africa for a month."

Additionally, using a mobile-friendly donation form and providing a variety of payment options can make it easier for smartphone users to donate. By following these tips, charities can maximize their chances of receiving donations from smartphone users and increase their impact in the world.

Additionally, using emotional appeals in the donation request and sending reminders to potential donors also showed increased positive results in charitable contributions compared to the control group that followed more "traditional" methods.
