  • Magnesium and Sandhoppers: Understanding Winter Survival
While magnesium does play an important role in several physiological processes of the body, there's no scientific evidence to suggest that magnesium directly acts as a sleeping potion or enables sandhoppers to survive cold winters. Sandhoppers primarily survive winter conditions through various adaptations, including lowering their metabolic rate, accumulating energy reserves, and entering a dormant state called diapause.
