Here's why:
* Electromagnetic Spectrum: Solar radiation spans the entire electromagnetic spectrum, from low-energy radio waves to high-energy gamma rays.
* Energy and Wavelength: The energy of electromagnetic radiation is inversely proportional to its wavelength. Gamma rays have the shortest wavelengths and therefore the highest energy.
* Penetrating Power: Due to their high energy, gamma rays have the most penetrating power. They can easily pass through most materials.
While gamma rays are the most powerful, they are also the least abundant type of radiation from the Sun. Most of the solar radiation that reaches Earth is in the form of visible light and infrared radiation.
