  • Sun's Hydrogen Consumption: A Daily Breakdown & Fusion Process
The Sun doesn't "use" hydrogen in the way we think of using fuel. It fuses hydrogen into helium through nuclear fusion, releasing a tremendous amount of energy in the process.

    Here's the breakdown:

    * Fusion rate: The Sun fuses approximately 600 million tons of hydrogen into helium every second.

    * Daily rate: This translates to 51.84 billion tons of hydrogen per day.

Keep in mind that this is an incredibly massive amount, but it's just a tiny fraction of the Sun's total hydrogen content. The Sun has enough hydrogen to sustain its fusion process for another 5 billion years.
