  • Apollo 11 Speed to Moon: Trajectory and Velocity
    The Apollo 11 spacecraft didn't travel at a constant speed to the Moon. It had different phases with varying speeds:

    * Trans-Lunar Injection (TLI): This was the crucial burn that put the spacecraft on a trajectory towards the Moon. The speed at this point was around 24,000 miles per hour (38,624 km/h).

    * Landing on the Moon: The lunar module detached from the command module and descended to the Moon's surface. This was a very slow and controlled descent, reaching a speed of around 5 miles per hour (8 km/h) at touchdown.

    So, there's no single answer to the question of how fast Apollo 11 traveled to the Moon. The speed varied significantly throughout the journey.
