    The motion of the Moon causes eclipses of the Sun. Here's why:

    While the Sun and Earth also move, their motion isn't the direct cause of solar eclipses. It's the Moon's position in its orbit relative to the Sun and Earth that creates the alignment necessary for a solar eclipse.
