  • Moon Temperature: Extreme Heat and Cold on the Lunar Surface
The highest temperature on the Moon's surface can reach 127°C (261°F). This occurs at the lunar equator during the lunar day, when the Sun is directly overhead.

However, it's important to note that the Moon has no atmosphere to retain heat, so temperatures plummet drastically during the lunar night, reaching -173°C (-279°F). This extreme temperature difference is one of the most challenging factors for future lunar exploration.
