  • American Moon Missions: A Look Back and Future Plans
There have been no American flights to the Moon since the Apollo program ended in 1972.

While there were several successful missions within the Apollo program (Apollo 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, and 17) that landed astronauts on the Moon, there haven't been any subsequent American missions to the lunar surface.

The focus shifted to other areas of space exploration, including the International Space Station and robotic missions to other planets. However, there are current plans for a return to the Moon with NASA's Artemis program, which aims to establish a sustainable presence there.
