    Speed measures the rate of change in position over time.

    Think of it this way:

    * Position: Where something is located.

    * Change in position: How much the location changes.

    * Time: How long it takes for the change in position to occur.

    Speed is calculated by dividing the distance traveled by the time taken.

    For example:

    * If you travel 100 meters in 10 seconds, your speed is 10 meters per second.

    * If you drive 100 kilometers in 2 hours, your speed is 50 kilometers per hour.
