Here's why:
* Gravity is a fundamental force of nature. It acts as a curvature in spacetime, caused by the presence of mass and energy.
* Changes in this curvature travel at the speed of light. This means that if the Sun suddenly disappeared, we wouldn't notice its absence for about 8 minutes, the time it takes light (and gravity) to travel from the Sun to Earth.
While we often talk about gravity "pulling" objects, it's more accurate to think of it as a warping of space and time. Objects move along the curves in spacetime, which gives the illusion of a force pulling them.
