  • Understanding Normal Force: When You Stomp
When you stomp your foot on the ground, you are exerting a normal force.

    Here's why:

    * Normal force is a contact force that acts perpendicular to the surface of contact.

    * When you stomp, your foot pushes down on the ground. The ground, in turn, pushes back on your foot with an equal and opposite force. This force is the normal force.

It's important to note that while the force is called "normal", it's not necessarily a "normal" force in the everyday sense of the word. It can be a very strong force, especially when you're stomping hard!
