  • Weight vs. Mass: Understanding Gravitational Force
    The measure of the gravitational force on an object is its weight.

    Here's why:

    * Weight is the force of gravity acting on an object's mass. It's a force, measured in Newtons (N).

    * Mass is the amount of matter in an object, measured in kilograms (kg).

    The relationship between weight (W), mass (m), and gravitational acceleration (g) is:

    Where:

    * g is the acceleration due to gravity, which is approximately 9.8 m/s² on Earth.

    So, while mass is an intrinsic property of an object, weight is a measure of the force acting on that object due to gravity.
