  • Sir Isaac Newton and the Law of Universal Gravitation: A Comprehensive Explanation
The first scientist to describe how the force of gravity behaved was Sir Isaac Newton.

He formulated the law of universal gravitation, which states that every particle in the universe attracts every other particle with a force that is proportional to the product of their masses and inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers.

This law was first published in his groundbreaking book, *Philosophiæ Naturalis Principia Mathematica*, in 1687.
