  • Direction of Acceleration When Speeding Up - Physics Explained
If an object is speeding up to the right, its acceleration is also to the right.

    Here's why:

    * Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity.

    * Velocity has both speed and direction.

    * If an object is speeding up, its speed is increasing.

    * Since the object is speeding up *to the right*, its direction is also to the right.

Therefore, since both speed and direction are changing in the same direction (to the right), the acceleration is also to the right.
