  • Understanding Non-Contact Forces: Gravity & Electromagnetism
    The forces that exist between objects even in the absence of direct physical contact are called non-contact forces. Here are some of the most common examples:

    * Gravitational Force: This force exists between any two objects with mass. It is always attractive and gets stronger as the masses of the objects increase or the distance between them decreases. The Earth's gravity is what keeps us on the ground.

    * Electromagnetic Force: This force involves interactions between electrically charged particles. It can be attractive or repulsive, depending on the charges involved. This force is responsible for everything from holding atoms together to powering your smartphone.

    * Weak Nuclear Force: This force is responsible for radioactive decay, a process where unstable atomic nuclei break down and release energy.

    * Strong Nuclear Force: This force holds the nucleus of an atom together, overcoming the electrostatic repulsion of the protons. It is the strongest force in the universe, but it acts only over very short distances.

    These forces are fundamental to the workings of the universe, and they are constantly at play all around us.
