  • Distance to Velocity Conversion: Understanding the Difference & Calculation
    You can't directly convert distance to velocity. They are different physical quantities. Here's why:

    * Distance: Measures how far an object has traveled. It's a scalar quantity (only has magnitude).

    * Velocity: Measures how fast an object is moving *and* in what direction. It's a vector quantity (has both magnitude and direction).

    To calculate velocity, you need both distance and time:

    * Velocity = Distance / Time

    Example:

    * If you travel 100 miles in 2 hours, your velocity is: 100 miles / 2 hours = 50 miles per hour.

    Important Note: This calculation gives you the *average* velocity over the entire journey. Your actual velocity might have varied during the trip.
