  • Understanding Velocity Magnitude: Formula & Calculation
    The magnitude of velocity is simply speed.

    Here's how it works:

    * Velocity is a vector quantity, meaning it has both magnitude (how fast) and direction.

    * Speed is a scalar quantity, meaning it only has magnitude (how fast).

    Therefore, the formula for the magnitude of velocity is the same as the formula for speed:

    Magnitude of Velocity (Speed) = Distance / Time

    Example:

    If a car travels 100 kilometers in 2 hours, its speed (magnitude of velocity) is:

    Speed = 100 km / 2 hours = 50 km/h
