  • Sir Isaac Newton: Discoverer of Motion & Newton's Laws
The English scientist who described how things move is Sir Isaac Newton.

He developed Newton's laws of motion, which are the foundation of classical mechanics. These laws describe:

    * Inertia: An object at rest stays at rest, and an object in motion stays in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

    * Acceleration: The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the net force acting on the object and inversely proportional to its mass.

    * Action-Reaction: For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.

Newton's laws of motion revolutionized our understanding of how things move and are still widely used today in physics, engineering, and other fields.
