  • Conductors: Materials That Easily Transfer Heat - Definition & Examples
    The type of material that heat flows through easily is called a conductor.

    Here are some examples of good conductors:

    * Metals (like copper, aluminum, silver, gold) are excellent conductors of heat. This is why pots and pans are often made of metal.

    * Water is also a good conductor of heat. This is why it's used in many cooling systems.

    Important Note: Materials that resist the flow of heat are called insulators. Examples include wood, plastic, and rubber.
