  • Understanding Horizontal Motion: Definition & Examples
    A motion parallel to the ground is simply horizontal motion. This means the object is moving along a line that is level with the surface of the earth.

    Here are some examples of horizontal motion:

    * A car driving down a straight road.

    * A ball rolling across a table.

    * A plane flying at a constant altitude.

    Important Note:

    * Horizontal motion doesn't necessarily mean constant speed. The object can be accelerating or decelerating while still moving horizontally.

    * Horizontal motion can be combined with vertical motion. For example, a ball thrown through the air has both horizontal and vertical components to its motion.
