  • States of Motion: Understanding Rest and Constant Velocity
An object that is not accelerating can exist in two other states of motion:

    1. Rest: This is the simplest state, where the object is stationary and its velocity is zero. It's not moving at all.

    2. Constant velocity: This is where the object is moving at a steady speed in a straight line. Even though it's moving, its velocity isn't changing, so it isn't accelerating.

Remember, acceleration is about a *change* in velocity, not just the velocity itself.
