  • Understanding Gravity: The Universal Force of Attraction
The attractive force that all objects exert on one another is called gravity.

Here's a little more about gravity:

    * Universal Law of Gravitation: Sir Isaac Newton discovered the universal law of gravitation, which states that every particle of matter in the universe attracts every other particle with a force that is:

    * Proportional to the product of their masses. The more massive the objects, the stronger the gravitational force.

    * Inversely proportional to the square of the distance between their centers. The farther apart the objects, the weaker the gravitational force.

    * Not just for planets: While gravity is most noticeable between large objects like planets and stars, it actually exists between all objects, even tiny ones. The reason we don't feel the gravity between two apples, for example, is that the force is simply too weak at that scale.

    * A fundamental force: Gravity is one of the four fundamental forces of nature, alongside the electromagnetic force, the weak force, and the strong force. It plays a crucial role in shaping the universe, from the formation of stars and galaxies to the tides on Earth.
