  • Constant Properties of a Free-Falling Object: Gravity & Mass
For an object falling freely towards the Earth, the following are constant:

    * Acceleration due to gravity (g): This is approximately 9.8 m/s² near the Earth's surface. It remains constant throughout the fall, assuming air resistance is negligible.

    * Mass of the object: The object's mass does not change during free fall.

Note: While the acceleration due to gravity is constant, the velocity of the object increases as it falls.
