  • Velocity: Understanding Speed and Direction
The measure of both speed and direction of an object is called velocity.

    Here's why:

    * Speed tells you how fast an object is moving.

    * Direction tells you which way the object is moving.

Velocity combines both of these aspects, providing a complete picture of an object's motion.

    For example:

    * A car traveling at 60 miles per hour is its speed.

    * A car traveling at 60 miles per hour north is its velocity.
