1. Strong Nuclear Force: This is the strongest force, responsible for holding the nucleus of an atom together. It acts over very short distances, only within the nucleus itself.
2. Electromagnetic Force: This force governs the interaction of electrically charged particles, responsible for things like electricity, magnetism, and light. It is weaker than the strong force but acts over much longer distances.
3. Weak Nuclear Force: This force is responsible for radioactive decay, and is even weaker than the electromagnetic force. It also operates over extremely short distances.
4. Gravitational Force: This is the weakest force, but acts over the longest distances. It is responsible for the attraction between any two objects with mass, including planets, stars, and galaxies.
There is ongoing research to explore the possibility of a fifth force, which could explain some currently unexplained phenomena, like the existence of dark matter. However, there is no conclusive evidence for a fifth force yet.
