1. Solid: Particles in a solid are tightly packed and vibrate in fixed positions. They have the least amount of movement.
2. Liquid: Particles in a liquid are close together but can move around each other. They have more movement than solids.
3. Gas: Particles in a gas are far apart and move freely in all directions. They have the most amount of movement.
Plasma: While not always included in the traditional states of matter, plasma has the most movement of all. It's a superheated gas where electrons are stripped from atoms, creating free-moving charged particles.
