  • Understanding Gravity's Effect on Airplanes: Mass and Earth's Pull
The force that pulls an airplane towards the Earth and is related to its mass is gravity.

    Here's why:

    * Gravity is a fundamental force of nature: It attracts any two objects with mass towards each other. The more massive the objects, the stronger the gravitational attraction.

    * Earth's gravitational pull: The Earth has a large mass, so it exerts a strong gravitational force on everything near it, including airplanes.

    * Mass and Gravity: The force of gravity on an object is directly proportional to its mass. This means that a heavier airplane experiences a stronger gravitational pull than a lighter one.

Important Note: While gravity pulls the airplane down, the airplane's wings generate lift, an upward force that counteracts gravity and allows the airplane to stay airborne.
