  • Opposing Forces: Understanding Balanced and Unbalanced Forces
    Two different forces acting in opposite directions are called opposing forces.

    Here are a couple of other ways to describe them:

    * Balanced forces: If the opposing forces are equal in magnitude, they are called balanced forces. This results in no net movement or change in motion.

    * Unbalanced forces: If the opposing forces are unequal in magnitude, they are called unbalanced forces. This results in a net force and causes the object to accelerate in the direction of the stronger force.
