  • Calculating Wave Speed: Wavelength & Frequency Explained
    You need the following two measurements to calculate the speed of a wave:

    1. Wavelength (λ): This is the distance between two consecutive crests or troughs of the wave.

    2. Frequency (f): This is the number of wave crests or troughs that pass a given point in one second.

    The speed of a wave is calculated by the following equation:

    Speed (v) = Wavelength (λ) * Frequency (f)
