  • Understanding Freefall: Motion Under Gravity
An object accelerating only under the force of gravity is said to be in freefall.

    Here's why:

    * Freefall means the object is only experiencing the force of gravity.

    * No other forces are acting on the object, like air resistance or friction.

    * This means the object is accelerating at a constant rate, known as the acceleration due to gravity.

Important Note: While we often think of freefall as objects falling straight down, it can also apply to objects thrown upwards, or moving horizontally in a curved path due to gravity.
