  • How Mass Affects Acceleration: A Physics Explanation
    If you double the mass of an object while keeping the net force the same, the acceleration will be halved.

    This is directly from Newton's Second Law of Motion:

    * F = m * a

    Where:

    * F is the net force

    * m is the mass

    * a is the acceleration

    If you double the mass (m), and keep the force (F) the same, the acceleration (a) must decrease by half to keep the equation balanced.
