  • Understanding Constant Speed: Definition and Examples
The speed that occurs when an object travels at a steady rate for a period of time is called constant speed.

    Here's why:

    * Constant Speed: Means the object covers the same distance in equal intervals of time. Think of a car driving on a highway at a set speed limit.

    * Steady Rate: Indicates that the object's velocity (speed and direction) isn't changing.

Important Note: While constant speed implies a steady rate, it doesn't necessarily mean the object is moving in a straight line. An object moving in a circle at a constant speed still has a constant speed, but its velocity is changing due to the changing direction.
