    Here's how it works:

    * Expelling Gas: A rocket engine burns fuel, creating hot, expanding gas.

    * One Direction: The gas is directed out of a nozzle, creating a powerful thrust.

    * Opposite Direction: According to Newton's Third Law of Motion, for every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction. The force of the gas pushing out of the nozzle propels the rocket in the opposite direction.
