  • Balanced Forces & Motion: Understanding Newton's First Law
When forces are balanced, the object will experience no change in motion. This means:

    * If the object is at rest, it will stay at rest.

    * If the object is moving, it will continue moving at a constant speed and in the same direction.

This is due to Newton's First Law of Motion, also known as the Law of Inertia.

    Here are some examples:

    * A book sitting on a table: The force of gravity pulling the book down is balanced by the normal force from the table pushing up. The book remains at rest.

    * A car moving at a constant speed on a straight road: The force of the engine propelling the car forward is balanced by forces like friction and air resistance. The car continues moving at the same speed.
