  • Understanding Velocity: Speed and Direction Explained
The combination of an object's speed and direction is called its velocity.

    Here's why:

    * Speed tells us how fast an object is moving.

    * Direction tells us which way the object is moving.

Together, they provide a complete description of an object's motion.

    For example:

    * A car traveling at 60 mph is moving at a certain speed.

    * A car traveling at 60 mph east is moving with a specific velocity.

Important Note: Velocity is a vector quantity, meaning it has both magnitude (speed) and direction.
