  • Understanding Velocity Changes: Speed and Direction
Two things can change in velocity:

    1. Speed: This is the magnitude of the velocity. A change in speed means the object is moving faster or slower.

    2. Direction: Even if the speed stays the same, a change in direction means the velocity changes. For example, a car turning a corner has a constant speed but its velocity is changing because its direction is changing.

So, in essence, any change in either the speed or direction of an object's movement results in a change in its velocity.
