  • Understanding Heat Conduction in Solids: A Simple Explanation
Imagine a solid as a bunch of tiny balls (atoms) connected by springs (bonds). When you heat one end of the solid, the atoms there start vibrating faster. These vibrations are like shaking the springs, making the nearby atoms vibrate faster too. This process continues down the line, transferring heat energy from one atom to the next without the atoms themselves moving much. That's conduction in its simplest form!
