  • Understanding Attractive Forces: Gravity, Electromagnetism & More
A force that pulls together is called an attractive force.

Here are some examples of attractive forces:

    * Gravity: The force that attracts all objects with mass towards each other. This is the force that keeps us on the ground and the planets in orbit around the sun.

    * Electromagnetism: The force that attracts and repels charged particles. This force is responsible for holding atoms together and for the behavior of magnets.

    * Strong nuclear force: The strongest force in the universe, holding the nucleus of an atom together.

    * Van der Waals forces: Weak attractive forces between molecules.

It's important to note that forces can also be repulsive, pushing objects apart.
