  • Understanding Acceleration: Force and Mass Explained
    Acceleration depends on two things:

    1. Net Force: The greater the net force acting on an object, the greater its acceleration. This is described by Newton's Second Law of Motion: F = ma (Force = mass x acceleration).

    2. Mass: The greater the mass of an object, the smaller its acceleration for a given force. This is also evident from Newton's Second Law. A larger mass requires a greater force to achieve the same acceleration as a smaller mass.
