    The four fundamental forces in the universe, as we currently understand them, are:

    1. Strong Nuclear Force: This force is the strongest of the four and holds the nucleus of an atom together. It acts over very short distances, only within the nucleus itself.

    2. Electromagnetic Force: This force governs the interactions between electrically charged particles. It's responsible for things like light, magnetism, and chemical bonding.

    3. Weak Nuclear Force: This force is responsible for radioactive decay. It's weaker than the strong force and acts over even shorter distances.

    4. Gravitational Force: This force is the weakest of the four but acts over the longest distances. It governs the attraction between any two objects with mass. It's what keeps the planets in orbit around the sun, and what holds galaxies together.

    It's important to note that physicists are constantly researching and trying to understand these forces in more detail, and there may be other forces that we haven't yet discovered.
