  • Calculating Work Done: Force, Distance, and Foot-Pounds
    Here's how to calculate the work performed:

    Understanding Work

    Work is done when a force causes an object to move a certain distance. It's calculated using the following formula:

    * Work (W) = Force (F) x Distance (d)

    Applying the Formula

    * Force (F) = 500 lb

    * Distance (d) = 6 feet

    Work (W) = 500 lb * 6 feet = 3000 foot-pounds

    Important Note: The unit for work is "foot-pounds" (ft-lb) in this case.
