  • Understanding Acceleration and Speed in the Same Direction
If an object accelerates in the same direction it is moving, its speed will increase.

    Here's why:

    * Acceleration is the rate of change of velocity.

    * Velocity has both speed (how fast) and direction.

    * If the acceleration is in the same direction as the velocity, the object is speeding up in that direction.

    Example:

Imagine a car moving forward (positive direction) and then accelerating forward. The car's velocity is increasing because both its speed and direction are consistent with the acceleration.
