  • Aristotle's Falling Object Theory: Mass and Galileo's Correction
    The Greek philosopher who proposed that the speed at which an object falls is proportional to its mass was Aristotle.

    This idea, however, was proven incorrect by Galileo Galilei centuries later. Galileo demonstrated through experimentation that objects of different masses fall at the same rate in a vacuum, neglecting air resistance.
